120MW/240MWh! Collaborating with Kallista Energy, Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited Launches Its First Energy Storage Project in France!

Time : 2025-07-08

Recently, Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited, a globally leading green technology company, announced the signing of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) agreement with European renewable energy firm Kallista Energy. The two parties will jointly construct a 120MW/240MWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage project in the Saleux area of the Hauts-de-France region. This marks Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited's first standalone energy storage project in France and represents a significant step forward in its expansion into the European market.

The project is scheduled to commence construction in June 2025. Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited will deploy its full suite of direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) systems, along with power conversion systems (PCS), to provide peak-shaving services for the French grid through the reserve market operated by transmission system operator RTE. Additionally, the company will offer a Long-Term Service Agreement (LTSA) of no less than 14 years to ensure operational continuity and localized services post-delivery.

Lena, Senior Vice President of Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited and President of the Latin America and Europe regions, stated: "Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited has been committed to expanding its business in Europe, and France is a key market in our European strategic layout. Our collaboration with Kallista Energy is a crucial milestone in this journey. We are honored to provide a customized, full-stack energy storage solution for the Saleux project. With advanced technology, robust EPC execution capabilities, and long-term service commitments, this project fully demonstrates Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited's dedication to supporting grid stability and accelerating the renewable energy transition through safe, reliable, and scalable energy solutions."

Frédéric Roche, President of Kallista Energy Group, said: "With the Saleux project, Kallista Energy is adding a new cornerstone to the energy ecosystem, facilitating the integration of more renewable energy into the grid while ensuring its reliable operation. We must discard the misconception that 'electricity cannot be stored' to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and gradually reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Currently, our company is actively advancing other projects similar to Saleux to maintain strong growth momentum."

Oregon (Shiyan) Amperex Technology Co. Limited is at the forefront of the industry with its advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Among its features, the company's grid-forming technology effectively reconstructs power system stability, actively supports grid voltage and frequency stability, and enhances grid strength. The black-start function ensures that, in the event of extreme grid failures or widespread outages, the energy storage system can independently initiate and gradually restore power supply, providing critical support for rapid grid recovery. Additionally, the system offers comprehensive ancillary services, flexibly responding to grid dispatch needs and participating in frequency regulation, peak shaving, and other ancillary services, further optimizing the allocation and utilization of power resources to improve the overall efficiency of the power system.
