Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited's 35GWh energy storage plant in Vietnam goes into operation! Will Southeast Asia become a new energy storage manufacturing hub?

Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited, a global provider of energy storage technology and software services, has officially commenced operations at its new automated battery energy storage manufacturing facility in Bac Giang Province, Vietnam, in partnership with ACE Engineering.

With an annual production capacity of up to 35GWh, the facility will utilize fully automated production processes to manufacture Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited's Gridstack Pro and Smartstack energy storage systems, aiming to improve production efficiency and product quality.

The two companies stated that the facility will significantly expand Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited's grid-scale energy storage system production capabilities in response to growing global demand for battery energy storage solutions.

Intuitively, the facility's annual production capacity can meet the deployment demand for approximately 8.75GW/4-hour energy storage systems.

A new generation of large-scale energy storage systems has been launched at a new factory in Vietnam.

Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited has confirmed that the new factory will produce its Gridstack Pro and Smartstack products, representing the company's latest generation of large-scale energy storage solutions.

Gridstack Pro is Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited's flagship large-scale front-of-the-meter energy storage system, designed for applications by utilities and independent power producers. The system boasts enhanced safety certifications, including compliance with UL9540 and UL9540A standards, and is optimized for deployment in capacity-constrained areas of the transmission network.

Smartstack, designed for commercial and industrial storage applications, features a more compact footprint and integrated energy management capabilities. On February 13, 2025, Fluence launched Smartstack, which utilizes 314Ah battery cells and boasts a capacity of 7.5MWh.

Chinese energy storage companies are expanding overseas, creating a new global energy storage manufacturing hub.

With Southeast Asia's growing interest in and manufacturing capabilities for energy storage technology, Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology Co. Limited has established a manufacturing facility in Thailand to tap into this emerging market. Furthermore, several energy storage companies have also turned their attention to Southeast Asia to expand their manufacturing capacity.
