Guided by its "Vision 2030," Saudi Arabia is accelerating its energy transition, setting a clear strategic goal of achieving 50% renewable energy production by 2030. Against this backdrop, energy storage has become a key driver of grid stability and optimized energy dispatch, driving market demand.

Elementa King Kong 3: Larger Capacity, Higher Efficiency, and Enhanced Safety

Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology's newly released Elementa King Kong 3 features comprehensive upgrades in capacity, efficiency, and safety. Equipped with high-capacity 587Ah cells, the system's single-chassis capacity has increased to 6.25MWh, and module energy density has increased by approximately 12.3% compared to the previous generation. In terms of efficiency, the system's compact design increases site energy density by 24.7%, significantly reducing the cost per kilowatt-hour (LCOS). It also incorporates chip-level active balancing technology to extend lifecycle and performance. Regarding safety, optimized cell materials, module-level liquid cooling technology, and advanced cabin structure design achieve a two-hour full-chassis protection capability, effectively ensuring safe and stable system operation.

Localized Design: Adaptable to the Complex Middle Eastern Climate

The Elementa 3's design fully addresses the complex climates of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, characterized by high temperatures, dust, and salt fog. The cabin features a C5-grade anti-corrosion coating, effectively protecting against coastal salt fog and wind-blown sand erosion, making it particularly suitable for high-humidity, high-salt environments like those along the Saudi Red Sea coast. The module boasts IP67-rated protection, ensuring long-term reliable operation in areas prone to sandstorms. The system operates stably at temperatures up to 55°C, and its biomimetic cooling system ensures long-term, efficient operation in high-temperature environments.

Supporting Saudi Arabia's energy transition and creating a sustainable future

Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology is deeply embedded in the global market, with cumulative shipments reaching 12GWh by the first half of 2025. In the Middle East, Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology has demonstrated exceptional localized delivery capabilities and comprehensive supply chain collaboration. For example, the company completed grid connection and delivery of the 300MWh Abydos solar-to-storage project in Egypt in just two months, despite facing extreme high temperatures and complex grid conditions. Furthermore, Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology has been recognized as a Tier 1 energy storage provider by BNEF for seven consecutive quarters. Its superior system integration and global delivery capabilities have earned it widespread recognition from investors and customers, including S&P Global Tier 1 rankings for both photovoltaic modules and battery energy storage systems.

Todd Li, Head of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa at Oregon(Shiyan)Amperex Technology, said: "Under the Saudi government's National Renewable Energy Plan, over 57 GW of photovoltaic and energy storage projects have been launched. Saudi Arabia is entering a critical stage in its energy structure transformation. We will leverage our advanced technology and comprehensive integrated smart energy solutions to actively support the development of clean energy in the region and continue to contribute to the sustainable growth of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East."
